How to complete The Way Home

Complete The Way Home by collecting Skinwalker’s blueprints at Hunter’s Glade, building a Tailoring Bench, crafting the required Tribal clothes and following the South Road to Anna in House Camp’s Church. If a required quest key is missing from both your inventory and the reward chest, speak to Anna or Skinwalker for a replacement.

02

Finish High Frequency before visiting Skinwalker

The Way Home begins after High Frequency in the Woods quest line. High Frequency can now be completed while Hopes and Dreams is still active. If both quests are in your log, you can continue through High Frequency toward The Way Home without finishing Hopes and Dreams first.

In co-op, the host should handle the main quest steps and Skinwalker’s quests. The specific workaround for collecting Skinwalker’s reward is to have the host open his box alone. Decide who will handle the interaction before reaching the tower so the group can follow that guidance.

03

Reach the tower and collect Skinwalker’s blueprints

  1. Go to Hunter’s Glade after The Way Home starts. Skinwalker is at the tower there, making it your destination for the blueprint collection.
  2. Climb using the rocks near the digger and the natural jumping route. This brings you onto the tower platform where you can reach Skinwalker.
  3. Speak with Skinwalker on the tower. His dialogue is the interaction to complete before collecting the blueprints from his reward box.
  4. Open Skinwalker’s reward box on the tower platform. Collect the quest blueprints there, including the Tailoring Bench recipe needed for the clothing stage.

Skinwalker’s reward box also contains a Utility Backpack with 25 slots. To equip the backpack, right-click it in your inventory and choose EQUIP. Consider sorting your supplies before leaving the tower so you have room for the materials you want to carry into the clothing stage.

04

Build the Tailoring Bench and craft the quest clothes

The clothing stage requires a Tailoring Bench and the Tribal Clothes Set blueprint. Follow the clothing names listed in The Way Home’s objectives: Tribal Boots, Cape, Gloves, Jacket and Pants. Use each recipe’s displayed requirements to plan your gathering before starting the crafts.

The Tribal Clothes Set requires 2 blueprint points. You gain blueprint points when leveling up, and the Blueprints screen shows your available points. If you are short, building or crafting can raise the corresponding skills toward another level.

  1. Build a Tailoring Bench using the recipe collected from Skinwalker’s reward box. This gives you the station for crafting the required clothing.
  2. Learn the Tribal Clothes Set blueprint. This is the blueprint objective before making the clothing listed in the quest.
  3. Craft the Tribal Boots at the Tailoring Bench to satisfy the Boots objective in The Way Home.
  4. Craft the Cape listed in the quest at the Tailoring Bench to satisfy the Cape objective.
  5. Craft the Gloves listed in the quest at the Tailoring Bench to satisfy the Gloves objective.
  6. Craft the Jacket listed in the quest at the Tailoring Bench to satisfy the Jacket objective.
  7. Craft the Pants listed in the quest at the Tailoring Bench to satisfy the Pants objective.
05

Follow the South Road to Anna in the Church

House Camp is the walled settlement that The Way Home sends you to after the crafting objectives. Its Church is the destination for meeting Anna. Look for the sign reading “LOCAL CHURCH” on the lawn and the steps leading to the double-door entrance.

  1. Follow the South Road to House Camp’s outskirts after completing the clothing objectives. This takes you toward the settlement where the quest ends.
  2. Enter the Church through its double doors. Anna stands in the main hall on the red carpet beside a tall candle stand.
  3. Speak to Anna using the Talk interaction. Reaching her completes The Way Home stage and leads into House Camp Flipper.
06

Recover a missing key or an inaccessible reward

The October 11 hotfix lets Anna or Skinwalker replace a required quest key when it is missing from both your inventory and the reward chest. This fix explicitly applies to The Way Home. Check both places before returning to a quest-giver, because the replacement guidance is for a key absent from both.

  1. Check your inventory for the required quest key. This establishes whether you already carry it before attempting recovery.
  2. Check the reward chest for the missing key. This establishes whether it remains there rather than needing a replacement.
  3. Speak to Anna or Skinwalker if the key is absent from both places. They can give you a replacement under the hotfix’s recovery procedure.
  4. Press Space to skip the end of Skinwalker’s dialogue if his reward box will not work. This is the recommended immediate workaround for that interaction.
  5. Have the host open Skinwalker’s reward box alone if you are playing in co-op. This follows the recommended collection workaround.

Taking Skinwalker’s blueprint before The Way Home starts, or repairing the tower too early, can still block progression. Leave those interactions until the quest reaches the appropriate stage. If the key or blueprint recovery still fails, submit the affected world save.
